Stevington Neighbourhood Plan

The Parish Council is in the final stages of preparing the Stevington Neighbourhood Plan which, when adopted, becomes a legal document within Planning legislation.

The most recent draft of Stevington Neighbourhood Plan has been sent to Bedford Borough Council for SEA screening. Following this process the Parish Council hopes to move on to the formal process, Regulation 14, in the next few months. If you are interested to know how this process works see

The Neighbourhood Plan is a real and positive opportunity for the community to shape the future development of Stevington, particularly the use and development of land and buildings.  Without a Neighbourhood Plan, we will have little influence over future development in Stevington.

A Working Group has been set up to progress the Plan and we have been fortunate enough to secure some grant funding from the Community Development Foundation to get our project started. We will apply for more to support the development of the Neighbourhood Plan as and when such funding becomes available.

If you have any questions about the Neighbourhood Plan please come along to one of our parish council meetings.  You can also contact our clerk at or the Working Group at
